Can’t Go on Your Holiday? Sell It to Another Traveller
Recover some of the money from a holiday you can no longer use. We’ll create and advertise your listing, connect you with buyers and support you through the transfer process.
How Selling Your Holiday Works
Three straightforward steps with support throughout
If you can no longer use a pre-booked holiday, flight or hotel, you may be able to sell it to another traveller. We help you create the listing, find a buyer and complete the transfer.
Check That Your Booking Can Be Transferred
Ask your travel provider whether the booking—including the lead passenger where applicable—can be transferred. Confirm the cost and the deadline for completing the name change. The seller is responsible for paying the provider's transfer or name-change fees.

Why Sell Your Holiday Instead of Cancelling?
Selling a transferable booking could help you recover more than cancelling, while giving another traveller the opportunity to travel for less.
Recover Some of Your Holiday Cost
Cancellation charges can significantly reduce your refund. Selling at a realistic discount may provide a better financial outcome.
Give Your Booking a Second Chance
Plans change. Instead of leaving the booking unused, another traveller could take your place and enjoy the holiday for less.
Support Throughout the Transfer
We help prepare your listing, consider a realistic price and guide you through the transfer and payment process.

Selling Your Holiday: Frequently Asked Questions
Straightforward answers about transferable bookings, fees, payments and what happens if your holiday does not sell.
In many cases, yes. The booking must be transferable and the new traveller must meet the travel provider's requirements. Contact the provider first to confirm that the booking—including the lead passenger where applicable—can be changed, what it will cost and the deadline for completing it.
It may. Cancellation charges can significantly reduce your refund, particularly near departure. Selling at a realistic discount could provide a better outcome, but a sale is not guaranteed and the amount recovered will depend on the booking, dates, destination and buyer demand.
Transfer My Trip can consider package holidays, hotels, villas and some flight bookings. The travel provider must permit the required name changes or transfer. For hotel-only bookings, you will need written confirmation that the guest name can be changed or the booking transferred.
There is a £15 upfront listing fee to review your information and create and publish your advert. If the holiday sells, the total seller fee is 3% of the final sale price. For sales below £1,000, the minimum total fee is £30. The £15 listing fee already paid is deducted from the final amount due.
The seller is also responsible for any transfer or name-change fees charged by the travel provider.
There are no further Transfer My Trip fees to pay if your booking does not sell. The £15 listing fee is non-refundable because it covers reviewing the information and creating and publishing the listing.
The buyer pays Transfer My Trip. You then arrange the name change or booking transfer with the travel provider. After the provider issues the updated booking confirmation and the buyer approves the details, we release the sale proceeds to you, less the applicable seller fee.
Regulation 9 of the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 allows a traveller to transfer a package travel contract to another person who satisfies all the conditions that apply to it. You must give the organiser reasonable notice on a durable medium; notice given at least seven days before the package starts is always considered reasonable under the regulation.
The original and replacement travellers can both be liable for the remaining balance and the additional costs of the transfer. The organiser must provide evidence of those costs, which must not be unreasonable or exceed the organiser's actual cost.
This rule specifically concerns package travel contracts. Other bookings, such as hotel-only reservations or flight-only tickets, depend on the provider's applicable terms and permission.
